Along with the new KBShimmer polishes I was sent to review back in August, I also received several mini bottles of core collection colors. I've had these swatched since August but just never got around to posting them. Bad Sarah! However, if you follow KBShimmer on Facebook, then you may have seen the new Trick or Treat promotion that Christy is running. If you happened to have missed the announcement, check out the details here. With the new promotion running, this seems like a great time to finally get these swatches up!
Be prepared, this is going to be a bit picture heavy. Check out all the swatches after the break.
Let's start off with Blinded By The Bright, a neon yellow base with rainbow hex glitters. This was 3 coats of Blinded By The Bright, no undies. Application was very smooth and there is a generous amount of glitter in this polish. I didn't need to mess with it at all, where the glitter ended up was just from the normal application of the polish.
Next up, we have Elle, a really pretty grey jelly with pink, white, grey and silver glitter. Christy recommends 3 coats alone or 2 coats over undies. But I actually wore just 2 coats by itself and the visible nail line was nearly impossible to see. I was tempted to apply a third coat, but loved how it looked with just 2 coats so I left it that way.
Again, application was very smooth, lots of glitter and I didn't have to play around with placement at all. In fact, when I was first going through my pics on my computer, I noticed this little pile of glitter on my middle finger, 2 pink and 1 silver, that reminded me of an abstract rose.
Anybody else see it? No, just me? ...lol. Anyway, moving along to the next polish, The Dancing Green. The Dancing Green is a bright green polish containing fuchsia squares and dots, chartreuse dots, sapphire hexes and also some micro shimmer. I've seen a bunch of swatches where The Dancing Green leans a bit teal, but for me it was a super bright green in real life.
The last two polishes I have to show you are both toppers. First is Ice Queen, a clear base filled to the brim with all sorts of silver holographic glitters. There's micro glitter, several different sizes of hex glitter and some really awesome diamond holographic glitters. I layered one coat of Ice Queen over The Grape Beyond.
Last up is Clown Puke and that really is the perfect name for this polish. There are a lot of rainbow glitter toppers around but Clown Puke has one of the best varieties when it comes to both the colors and the shapes and sizes of the glitters used. There's hexes, circles, squares, stars, moons and that's just what ended up on my nails. Who knows if there is anything still in the bottle that I haven't discovered yet. I alternated the base color on my nails between red and white to give two different looks for these swatches. This is one coat of Clown Puke over Zoya America and China Glaze White On White.
I think that's officially the most pictures I've ever posted at once! Be sure to check out KBShimmer's Facebook page. The Trick Or Treat promotion runs until the 25th of October.
